BabyNote Privacy Policy

Thank you for using BabyNote (“the App”, developed by HackerApp). We respect your family’s privacy. This policy explains how information is handled: memories and photos are stored on your device by default, no account is required, and the App does not automatically sync to BabyNote’s own cloud.
1. Information We Collect
Content you create: Baby profiles (such as name, birthday or due date, avatar), memory text and stories, photo copies imported into the App’s local storage, place names and tags—stored on your device by default.
Permission-related data: Only when you grant access and use a feature: Photos, Microphone, Speech Recognition, or Location when you choose “Current Location”. We do not collect personal usage data for advertising or cross-app tracking.
Accounts and identifiers: The App does not require an account. Membership purchase and restore go through the Apple App Store / StoreKit; Apple handles payment-related information.
2. How We Use Information
To provide on-device memory organization, photo import and display, dictation-to-text, place labels, membership entitlement checks, and to respond when you contact us. We do not use your photos for advertising or sell your personal information.
3. On-Device Processing
These capabilities primarily run on your device:
- Photos (PhotoKit): import and organize memory photos
- On-device vision: help find baby-related photos and scene tags; analysis is not uploaded to BabyNote servers
- On-device speech recognition: dictate memories to text; audio is not uploaded to BabyNote servers
- System maps and location services: place search, reverse geocoding from photo GPS, or location when you choose “Current Location”
4. Third-Party Services
We may rely on:
- Apple services: App Store / StoreKit (purchase and restore), Photos, Maps and Location, system Speech and Vision frameworks, and similar
- Optional third-party AI story assistance: if enabled, only text metadata may be sent (such as baby name, event date, scene tag text, and your draft)—not original photos; local templates can also generate copy
- We do not integrate our own advertising, behavioral tracking, or crash-analytics SDKs for marketing (e.g. we do not use Firebase / Amplitude / Sentry for that purpose)
5. Storage and Security
Memories and photo files stay in the App sandbox on your device. The App does not automatically upload photos to BabyNote’s servers or provide automatic cloud sync. Keep your device secure and back up anything you need to keep long-term. Uninstalling the App or deleting all data under Settings → Storage clears local App data.
6. Your Rights
You can edit or delete individual memories and profiles in the App, or delete all local data under Settings → Storage. Contact us via the email below with questions.
7. Children’s Privacy
BabyNote is intended for parents or guardians to record a child’s memories. Names, birthdays, and photos are entered by the device holder (guardian) and stored on-device by default. The App is not for children to register and use on their own, and we do not serve targeted ads to children or sell children’s personal information.
8. Photos and Memories
We do not upload your photos to BabyNote servers. If a photo exists only in iCloud Photos, Apple PhotoKit may use the network to fetch it—that is system Photos behavior, not BabyNote’s own cloud. Exporting a memory film or sharing via the system share sheet happens only when you choose to.
9. Policy Changes
We may update this privacy policy and post the revised text and date on this page. Continued use means you acknowledge the updated policy; if you disagree, stop using the App and delete local data.
